The platform launched in February 2022 by the team behind DeFi platform Aave, and recently added a new feature called Token Gated Publication, allowing users to token-gate their content.
In January, Lens saw a record number of engagements, with 299,446 posts, 63,914 comments, and 111,215 mirrors. Over 25% of the total profiles made 10-50 engagements and 5.6% made 50-100 engagements, leading to a total of 1,196,531 posts and 394,165 comments on the platform.
The Lens Protocol team aims to create a decentralized social graph where creators can take ownership of their content and move freely across the decentralized internet. Additionally, Polygon's eco-friendly blockchain enables each publication on Lens Protocol to have a low carbon footprint while being on a low-cost, secure blockchain. With Lens Protocol's growing user base and recent milestones, the platform is poised to become a leading decentralized social graph on the blockchain.
